Carmen (K/C)atherine KAUTZA Wausau Daily Herald March 18, 2006 Posted March 18, 2006 Carmen Persen, 95, Antigo, died Thursday, March 16, 2006, at Eastview Medical and Rehabilitation Center, Antigo. She was born Feb. 9, 1911, in Aniwa, to the late William and Frances (Wegner) Kautza. She married Robert Schmoll in 1936. He preceded her in death in 1968. Carmen then married Arthur Persen in 1976, and he preceded her in death in 1995. She was employed at Thorn's Book and Liquor for 30 years. Carmen was a member of SS. Mary and Hyacinth Catholic Church, Antigo. She enjoyed reading, cooking and helping others. Survivors include one daughter, Judy (John) Wolters, town of Rome; one stepdaughter, Judy (Bob) Diercks, Antigo; two stepsons, Tom (Lois) Persen, Spooner, and Dan (Connie) Persen, Antigo; nine grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Norbert Kautza, Aniwa; one daughter-in-law, Kaye Schmoll; and one son-in-law, Clyde Doucette, Beach Park, Ill.; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two husbands; one daughter, Shirley Doucette; one son, William Schmoll; a sister, Lorraine Luedtke; brother, Donald Kautza; sister-in-law, Rosella Kautza; and brother-in-law, Earl Luedtke. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at SS. Mary and Hyacinth Catholic Church. The Rev. Jeremiah Worman will officiate. Burial will be in the spring at the Aniwa Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. Monday until the time of service at the church. A memorial has been established in her name. Strasser-Roller funeral Home, Antigo, is assisting the family with arrangements. |
